DF-03 Story

Well.... I've hunted and hunted for some DF-03 brushless install info. There's really not a lot! ...a few youtube videos... ...a few pictures...
It was a bit hard to swallow the price, but what the heck.

Castle creations Mamba Maxx 5700kv!

Have a look at some pictures here: http://web.mac.com/gracoat

A few key things I've had to add... Slipper Clutch >>a must<< ...and that's pretty much it! I've been running it for about two weeks now, and it's a screamer! Way better than I expected. I'm running a 6 Cell NiMH 4200mah battery. I get about 20 minutes of run time (identical to Monster Stock Pro CO27 motor I had installed before) and find that it's more fun than you can shake a stick at.
The biggest problem that I've had so far: The tamiya manual says that you should glue the tires to the rims. I was like, "whatever... They're way too hard to put on! There's no way they're coming off!" Yeah... Well... The first day I let the car stretch its legs at the local soccer field, my front left tire took off into a drainage ditch 50 feet from where I stopped the car! Pretty much every 'full throttle corner' caused the tires' beads to pop off. A little tire glue 100% fixed the issue.
I highly recommend this upgrade. I'll never look back!
Anyone else a new brushless convert?

Well, I feel a little sheepish now! I saw that he'd done a review, but didn't get so far into it to see that'd he'd put just the same motor in.

Well... Okay then.

It's a fun car!
