Assuming you are running 2wd here.... You can run either Ballistic 2wd slim fronts or some use Schumacher green slim mini's.

wet on the front of a 2wd, staggers actually work well.
they did tuesday evening when the heavens opened.
rears, well as mentioned, but different set ups seemed to make different results from the same tyre, so see what others are running. We had a mix of rears........

It really depends on what track. Wet tyres are ballistic greens, schumacher greens and occasionally staggers. Based on which track, various combination of the aforementioned will work best. Maybe best asking a local.

If it's really wet and slippy, to the point that even Ballistic Green's are struggling for grip, then on the rear Ballistic Mini Spike Pinks or dBoots Multibyte 'B' compound will give megga grip.

Pinks are very good in the slimy conditions, I ran full size fronts though rather than slims over the winter !

i found Cut Staggers worked ok on the wet. Although once it dried to a more damp state than "wet" they started to slide alot more.

Generally id say either green balistics or schu greens

I'm surprised nobody mentions silver Minispike on a wet tyre thread. They work really well on our outdoor carpet track, more than Ballistic green or Pinkies.

I tried the Schuy silvers but compared to both the dBoots 'B' compund and Ballistic Pinks they didn't have anything like the grip. There again, it's tyres for courses, even astro varies markedly from track to track.

yep forgot to add its 2wd. so would dboots multibyte compound b work well in wet?

RogerM 05-04-2012 04:10 PM

Yes the B compound does work well in the wet but make sure you set your ride height and geometry as you would for any other tire (i.e. set it with something like a schumy minispike on), the tall side wall will raise the car and if you then lower your ride height to compensate all your geometry will go out of the window = very odd car to drive!!!!!

On wet Astro running a 210 love D Boots B compound all round but as it dries change the front to either staggers or cut staggers!
