Depends what spur. If stock 87 then Ure limited upto about 24.

hotrodchris 03-04-2012 04:29 PM

Im running a 7.5 and gearing 78/25 if that helps at all it is normally on a high grip astro track with a long straight but have also used it with no issues on shorter tracks!

I ran 24/78 and it had no top end with an 8.5. Now running 26/83 with level 5 boost and it's much better. Could really do with 83 spur though

did you try going slightly bigger on the pinnion with the 78 spr gear?
RW Racing do an 83 tooth spur gear.

Sorry I meant 87 not 78. It needs a 78 lol

I'm running a cat sx spur

Are they a direct fit or do they need modifying to fit

team n.o.m.a.d 04-04-2012 05:07 AM

so is the answer 24? i have got std spur.will have a look to see if i have got any others that came with kit

s22jgs 04-04-2012 03:17 PM

24 is good. its nice and punchy, but it does hit top end pretty quick so will lag behind on a long straight. very driveable though.

And yes the Cat SX/Cougar spur is a perfect fit. No modification needed, and the Durango slipper pad actually fits better than on the durango spur

I've run a 25 with the kit 87T spur. I think the mesh was spot on. It never shredded the spur either way.

25 with a 78 spur awesome on long straights but does lack a little out of the corners!
