Nice, pity the person you bought it from didnt know how to build it correctly and has made a mistake. the belt tensioner in the rear gearbox is attached to the wrong belt, so needs to be turned around so the bearings hit the rear belt as the rear has two tensionsers (one underneath and one above) and the front tensioner is attached to the top deck.

Also welcome to the club, Ive had four, gave one to a mate in Wales, one to a mate in Chelmsford, one prototype new and unused I sold recently which paid for my new bathroom and the other prototype I still race and is somewhere on the Lazer ZXR forum. Link to some pictures http://www.petitrc.com/_forumphp/sho...ght=lazer+zx-s

I stand corrected :p, but what if the ZXS manual is different and that would then explain why. I find the car works better with a tensioner on top and below on the rear belt as it just doesnt break even with a 4.5 turn motor in. I use the ZXS tensioner on the top deck, so is possible that I am going from that manual.

Yes big time, wait until you see what my ZX will look like soon . Let me investigate this evening when I get home and look at my manuals, as I not only have the ZXS Evo version manual that you have, but a ZXS manual as well as the prototype manuals which are TBH a mess but may be why I got my wires crossed.

Like the wheels. I hope your not running yours, and keeping as a shelfer.

Yes a original Evo manual comes with the car so i can check on it what's wrong.

Of course i dont want use the ZXS; his place will be a nice shelf.

You have a ZXS evo manual which is as your car is, but the ZXS manual (a different car) may be different. I will update you later on.

Have you decided on how your going to paint it, or are you leaving it like that?

the roller is there for the belt not to skip since there are only a few teeth that actually grips the belt on the rear belt there are more teeth gripping since the belte is curved with the tensioner .

And yes both manual are the same on that point.

IŽll guess the LA-63 are coming soon ...

Wrong built or not they are no wonder i got to get me one more.

Iso The rear belts better off with two tensioners and the front belt doesnt slip when using the tensioner on the top deck. Still as its a shelfer its top notch.

The car appears to be built correctly. Blue is nicer and you can still source some wheels to dye.

Ok ive found some notes as to why the tensioner was moved, on my car. The rear belt did jump the pulley and didnt sound good either so ended up swopping it around and doing that resolved the issue.
