Quality tool advice
Can anyone recommend a good quality brand of hand tools? Not R/C related, just for general DIY. I'm fed up of using my cheap ones and want to invest in some nice screwdrivers. Are Snap-on the "mutt's" or is there better out there?

Ive always used Stanley screw drivers and they very rarely break. Snap on are good but are rather expensive for screwdrivers.

Snap on are very good quality tools. lol their van comes to my house and im always like aww dad please can i just get this....
I think you get a lifetime warranty on all snap on tools aswell:thumbsup: ben |
I can recommend my Tamiya screwdrivers which I have since I was 10! However they were also expensive, much like snap on.
I agree, get some Stanley ones. My dad has some old skool stanley ones which he still uses (25 years old plus). I had some really cheap ones in a tool box kit, but they were crap because the handles just spin on the shafts! |
You cant go wrong with Snap on or Mac tools

Most good make are plenty good enough for RC stanley, draper etc.snap on are the nuts but if your going to spend that sorta dosh you may as well buy top class RC stuff hudy or losi for less money

I'm a Joiner by trade and can assure you Stanley are a very good make, I try use/buy their products when I can/need to. never had a problem with quality and never had anything break as of yet.
For sockets i'm led to beleive snap on are the choice in that area. |
i agree stanley are very good. also use draper

Being someone who needs decent hand tools for work I'd always make Wera my first choice, closely followed by Stanley.

Cheers everyone. (I thought this would be good place to ask!)

HellFrauds Pro range is very good and comes with a lifetime warranty.

Snap-on for spankers and wrenches.... we used to use them exclusively inthe MOD on aircraft and general work, pay more for it, but only buy it the once.... not too sure on the lifetime waranty though..
I always work on the principle that it is better to spend more once on a tool, than to keep on having to replace it, as they always fail when you most rely on them. |

I use the Halfords screwdrivers, very good, never had a problem with them. My dad has the biggest pro range socket set, very very good, ratchet spanners are ace
