Look like DEX410 rear bulkheads cut to fit. Good idea. But am I right in saying that you not have no gearbox brace to the shock tower?

They are 410 ones cut. I am currently not running a gearbox brace, Its not that hard to add though.

I was thinking of doing a little bit of a guide for people who are unsure where to cut ? Would this be of use to anyone ?

Raising the wing and moving the motor as far back as possible has transformed the car in mid-motor mode.

I have to fully agree with you here.

I ditched the standard 87T spur for an 82T and found a very positive change in the car's rotation and mid to exit corner speed - just because the motor was now further back another 5 - 10mm.....

rc10fan 27-03-2012 02:40 PM

what pinion did you choose when running the 82T spur? 22/23/24?
Wouldn't changing it to 82T make it long geared thus making it run hot ?

Mid motor setups normally run 87 or 89 thus making it smoother and helping run cooler ?

I could be wrong and i normally am but i was reading some geeky gearing setup calculations and they were saying short geared is better than long due to over heating issues

cheers

tc3nitro 27-03-2012 03:21 PM

I think i'm running 82/21......

hotrodchris 27-03-2012 04:23 PM

Iv'e just started 78/25 with an R10 it was hot on Sunday also Torch has a long back straight and had no heat issues car was good in the turns and top end was still excelent, it's worth giving it a try!
Run the Schumacher RW spur gear fits straight on!

Northy 27-03-2012 04:30 PM

But what motor are you all running with this gearing?

Legacy555 27-03-2012 04:54 PM

Right I have taken some more shots as I've finished stickering it and have added the painted wing.
I have also added a couple of pictures on the 410 wing mounts for you all to see how I have done mine.
