Phat Bodies 210 prototype

Right, before we go ahead with a new body design for the 210 there's a couple of questions I need answering .....

First off, it won't be the usual cab forward body as there already seem's to be a few of the these knocking around, so is there a market for a body that's not your "typical" cab forward design ?

I've been asked by a few peeps to make something along the lines of the stock shell, which looks pretty cool IMHO, but smoother and more flowing, and maybe with more front end ...

Let me know what you think

Sounds good. You have to keep the sharks fin roof too, that's ace:thumbsup:

mrspeedy 26-03-2012 07:37 PM

Definitely, thats my favourite bit

Definetly keep it similar to original but more flowing as you say and maybe a bit smoother? This would also help with lack of space inside and aid cooling possibly.

Something in between you Manx cougar shell & the standard 210 would be ace!!

Si you are the rc body style guru :-)

Yes mate to many cab forwards now...

But remember it needs to be " full phat "

A bit more front end yes! And cowls so we can use the same body for MM and RM.

mrspeedy 28-03-2012 09:39 PM

OK thanks guys. We'll add the comments into the mix and see what comes out .....

As soon as we have any more info in the form of design pics or moulds, we post em here

To clarify my last post. You do right in not making a cab forward body like everybody else.

The ultimate body would be a bit more front end down force, smoother lines. And as I said, still the opportunity to use it as MM and RM. And a thick quality lexan :)
Looking forward for your product

YES to cab forward body!

do you know the problem with the dex210's is they are too rear weight biased. It is harder to keep the front wheel down compared to other 2wd cars.

We need more cab forward body options to help put more weight on the front.

We're thinking along the same lines

We have been working on a B44.1 body with the same ideas, (more front end without the slightly clumsy FC look) and in prototype form has been working very well (our test driver won't give the proto body back !!!!)

Keep your eyes on this thread for any news

Just a wee update

First body has been pulled from the prototype mould ready for testing at Caldicot at the end of the week. And hopefully at the new WORM astro track a few days after.

We've tried to include as many of the requirements you have all suggested as possible.

- Similar profile to stock body
- Smoothed out design for the painters
- Kept the Sharks fin
- Increased space for mega speedo's
- Improved vents for cooling
- More front end biased aero than stock
- And its not a cab forward.

However, we have designed a front end wing that is easily attached to the body behind the shock tower. The idea is to simulate the CF aero but have it quickly removable so you can tune between the two body styles, but with only one body

We should have some proto pics ready by early next week, so keep tuned

I appreciate it's late in the day and everything sound's good so far but i'd suggest one shell suits all but without the cowl's and a higher mm motor solder tab clearance as some like my tekin are very very tight for clearance.

Danosborne6661 15-05-2012 07:33 PM

Will keep you updated on clearance, I'll be the one prototype testing the shell and I'm also running a Tekin motor

magictorch 15-05-2012 08:07 PM

Cool, cant wait to see it.

Si, I will bring the ball diff you lent me as im now running a gear diff:thumbsup:

tomvanelsen 15-05-2012 08:09 PM

Could it come pre-cut? Cuz the original body and cowls are a pain in the arse to cut

mrspeedy 15-05-2012 09:51 PM

... and for the last couple of comments ...

It will be a one size fits all body. No cowls. But will come with cut lines for MM4 chassis.

.. and its been fitted to my 210 MM4 with a Tekin motor and clears no problem

cornishboy176 16-05-2012 05:59 AM

Any Pictures of it fitted and painted please?

NeilRalph77 05-06-2012 06:58 PM

Any Updates?
