Funny things the Mrs says about RC

"why do you need so many sets of tyres?"

"you can put the other car on ebay now the new one has arrived" (DEX410v3 just got delivered by UPS)

"how many races are left?" (she still can't get her head about the heats and rounds)

Following my very shakey and accident prone (re)introduction to RC, after a 20 year break, in an extremely fragile B4.1. (probably my driving that makes it fragile.......).

Its either.

"Have you broken anything yet", standard text message an hour or so after i get to the club. Followed by, "What have you broken this time", as soon as i walk through the door and finished off by "what have you bought now" as she sees the bank security doofer coming out.......

I must be lucky, Claire loves all forms of motor racing and grasps the way RC races are ran no problem.

Fortunately my good lady just rolls her eyes when she sees another parcel land on the door mat and doesn't need to ask! She knows it's an addiction so there is no logic to many of the purchases. For example she has never asked why I keep changing my car and yet never seem to do any better! Now that would be difficult to answer!

Me and the Mrs have an understanding. She can spend her hard-earned money on shoes/handbags/clothes etc and I can spend mine on buggys. It just amazes me how a pair of shoes can cost more than a new kit... They go on your feet!!!!

my point too. she has like 30 sets of shoes! I have 3 pairs...
1 tidy for weddings, etc.
1 for cycling with cleats in them obviously
1 for everything else.

My every day shoes will last for 2 years wearing them every day no problem. I don't replace those until my socks get wet when walking in the rain haha.

I'm lucky Lisa is cool with me doing RC, she wants me to buy her one though... I can barely afford my own ! She likes to come and watch and take the photo's so it's all good really.

Yesterday I had the XB9 sitting on the box idling and she was pottering about up the garden so I walked up to see what she was doing with the Tx in my hand. Whilst I stood talking to her I blipped the throttle a couple of times, to which she said "how is that revving on its on when you are up here with me?" I just held the transmitter up to her face and walked away.... :wtf:

Shoes for wedding, shoes for going out (bit messy), trainers for best, trainers for walking the dog, messy trainers for gardening, cycling trainers, wellys, muckers for washing the car, steel toe caps for work + exwork steelies for grafting in just in case.... perhaps I have too much footwear!!:blush:
