xcelorin esc problem

hi there i am looking for some help. i have a xcelorin 6.5t combo. i have been connecting it to the laptop to make some setup changes and it has worked fine .then i replugged it in and now it wont read the esc. green light is on for usb and on the data link lead is also green.the esc light on the software is red. i have unplugged the esc from the receiver and tried it in the car and all works fine.so nothing wrong with the leads ect.just wont connect(read) the esc. have uninstalled and reinstalled but still the same. windows box comes up with read error 4????

I'm sorry to say, but that's probably the end of that speedo without sending it off to see if anything can be done by Horizon (and charged accordingly)
I've had one go the same way and have been unable to get it working again, haven't sent it off yet

hi peet.thanx for the reply.yes been reading some old threads. surely its not our fault if it there firmware update that has caused the problem??

reflash the firmware, if that dont work flash an older firmware.

i had the problem, plug it it and read it as usual, click on command at the top and select "restore to factory defaults" the unplug and plug it back in. i have 2 of the same esc and done it on both. hope this helps.

The problem is that with either of those suggestions the software has to recognise that the esc is connected, if t doesn't then it won't allow you to do anything :(

uninstall the software and drivers, and then reinstall maybe

peetbee 30-03-2012 10:24 AM

Tried that, even a different pc, it no likely :(
Last resort now is to return it

almunro 30-03-2012 10:59 AM

what operating system are you using?

peetbee 30-03-2012 11:50 AM

Win XP, I should add that I have several of these esc. The others have been faultless and still communicate happily with the PC.

i have one but no usb adapter so im not sure what else it could be.

mine wont go into calibrate mode, you ever experience this with your esc's?

Return to horizon.

Sent my 6.5 combo back as it stopped working, replaced whole combo free as firmware was corrupted on website(2 years ago),Another losi driver told me never to connect esc to internet and just use pitcard, have done that for 2 years and esc has never missed a beat, been in 3 different cars so i would recommed that.
