Help with an old Schumacher Buggy
Can you please help
I am looking at selling this buggy but am not sure what it is called or how much it is worth. It has Topcat on the back gearbox but have never heard anyone talking about one of these. I will be very grateful of any info you can give Pic are Here Thanks |
Can't access your pictures mate :(
Topcat certainly did exist, it was the 2WD I sooooo wanted when I was 14! Does yours look like this fine example? http://forum.racing-cars.com/forum_p...&title=top-cat |
I had a top cat and was the nuts i still have some spares
|
Early Cougars still had Topcat written on the motor guard, so it might be a Cougar.
Also it might be a Topcat converted into a Cougar as most were back in the day - it was just a new front end Schumacher sold as a handy upgrade. True Topcats are pretty rare. |
Thanks for all the info.
It has the shocks standing up at the front and has been modded by the looks of things. Not sure why the pics are not working but try here |
Looks to be a Schumacher Shotgun with a Cougar shell on it.
Doesn't have the long front shocks i'd expect on the Shotgun, but the rear hub carriers, wheels, rear shock tower etc are all Shotgun. |

Thanks very much and now off to see what its worth  |
Schy did a conversion before the days of the truggy that changed the cougar into a storm stadium truck it was basically a set of wheels a shell and mounts, same buggy rolling chassis, wishbones, shocks etc, that is definately some form of early cougar/club 10 pre slipper clutch or belt gearbox.
