Mad Rat is broken

Hi, I bought a couple of Brushless Mad Rats the other day and took them out today for the first time, both broke but I expected that.

One popped its suspension and the others back wheel broke off losing some bearings. The cars themselves are good but I need to buy parts for them preferable upgraded ones, so could anyone help me with links to upgraded:

Rear CVD Shafts
5x10x4 Bearings
Front and Rear Suspension (Alloy)

If there are any other things that I need to upgrade please could someone post some links.

Thanks in advance,
EFFX

Thanks kaylon,

Would you say these are a direct replacement for the standard shocks or would I need to buy other parts?

Thanks

Hi :)

You'll need these Turnbuckles to give you the needed space to run the big bores.

I personally dont use the 3 degree turnbuckles, never had a problem with my bigbores ;)

Thanks Tom3012,

Ordered them anyway just incase.

Next issue I used one of the mad rats as a doner car and took the working one out today. The gearbox is now broken, can I get the internal cogs for the gearbox? mor specifically the center one as all the teeth have been stripped :(

Yup..the idle is usually the main one to upgrade. I've upgraded my main Diff gear to Kevlar and I'm using the Alloy idle that you just linked.

Thanks for your help, I have now ordered 2 of each :( and 2 of these as the only tree in the park decided to attack the buggy.

i had a problem with it chewing through idler gears so get a kevlar one and then upgrade your spur gear to a Team Associated B4 one with the slipper pads this will also take some of the heat of the gearbox. Secondly apply some diff lube in the gearbox just to make sure it runs a little free-er (you don't have to do this but i did and it helped). Thirdly make sure that you have a smooth diff, if not upgrade the bearings inside it and put diff lube in it.

After this your gearbox will be lovely and smooth and shouldnt be as bad.

just remember to set the slipper up right though after fitting it all together.

and if like me you destroy many of the mounting plates (the green plate) upgrade it to an aluminium with the grooves (that also helps dissipate some heat)

Hope this all helps.

I also learnt the hard way (and the expensive way)

Thanks deano261, I have ordered kevlar/metal parts all the way through the gearbox and diff, just waiting for them to arrive.

I also upgraded the bearings in the wheels and gearbox, I will look into sticking some lube in the parts, haven't had any problems with the mounting plate but im sure that as soon as that breaks I will order some upgraded bits :)

Yay, another weekend and I managed to break it again :)

This time the whole front end has fell off :( I think I have the wrong shocks on it they look huge :)

I managed to snap these bits:

And lost the bearings off these:

Does anyone know where I could get the bearings for the servo shaft thingy's?

Thanks
