Come on Button.

Lewis has not learned to take defeat. Vettel seemed more sporting than Lewis both on the podium and the after race talk.
Its race one he has a car he can do something with and he killed the spirit of the podium staying away from Jenson only to lightly spray him.

What a great start to the F1 season although it is a shame lewis couldn't get off the line like he usually does but atleast he finished on the podium along with button , really looking forward to malaysia next week....

bbc coverage was top notch as usual:thumbsup:glad i didnt jump on the sky band wagon:p.........looks like everyone want to race, lets hope it stays that way

hazeandfizz 18-03-2012 05:03 PM

Cracking race and brilliant to see the Williams climbing over the back of a Ferrari, just a shame he dropped it on the last lap.

cmgreen 18-03-2012 06:05 PM

I didnt think it was any good, got board tbh. Same old same old, the first person to the first corner wins. Thought the tyres were meant to bring excitement? last yr they didnt know how the tyres would react now they are more stable. Could be wrong as its only the ffirst race, but i dont see it changing.

As for lewis, wot a huffy buggar. Any one remember the 80/90's? All 3 who finished on podium where chuff'd.

Thought the racing was great, I have SKY HD and was half hoping that they made a mess of it(think it should be on terrestrial TV really) But have got to say I think SKY did a great job, Really happy they didn't put any adverts in the program and the 5.1 was ace :). Good comentry and the image quality was great. Didn't see any headcam in race though :( which looked awsome in free practice.

jamiekerr14 18-03-2012 07:41 PM

Overall coverage was good from Sky, Race was good and interesting.

I agree that Hamilton was like a spoilt bugger after-But Vettel was very lucky, and I think Vettel could have been a bit nicer in the chats. He gave the impression he would have taken hamilton either way and that he was faster.. which he was not-or not by much if any if there was no safety car he was 3rd for sure.. Which I personally disagree with He could have been a bit more Curtis in the driver conference but thats me.. Happy Button won though.

I do get the F1 show on sky1 hd,and as you say they do a very good job,i just thought bbc would just do all the good bits in the race, but it was all 58 laps, because im on Virgin it would have cost £28 to watch it on the F1 channel:yawn:.........thats why i say the BBC coverage was top notch, looking forward to the ones they show live:thumbsup:

Lewis just can't take it having a competitive team mate. He's too used to getting his own way at McLaren, but they have warmed to Button and he is offering the more mature stable results.
Lewis may be able to rag out a quick qualifying lap, but he just can't deliver over a full race with heavy fuel.

Nice one Jenson

SDARCY118 18-03-2012 09:26 PM

watched the race this morning at stupid o'clock..on sky f1 which was pretty good!

its being reported(autosport) that from lap 8 both lewis and jenson switched to severe fuel saving due to a big miss calculation of fuel for the race!!..if they didnt have the safety car the result may have being slightly different:cry:

i think lewis was just pissed due to do the bad start and having to stay in a lean engine mode for much of race!

Roll on Malaysia!

shark 18-03-2012 10:13 PM

Umm , Jenson still pulled out a nice 3 second lead soon enough after the safety car and held it , and threw in the fastest lap near the end of the race . Guna be bloody quick when they're not on fuel saving mode then .

alteredoggy 18-03-2012 10:25 PM

the team did tell button he was good for fuel for the restart

It was cut down because when Vettel ran over the grass when chasing Schumacher it took him about 3-4 laps to catch back up, but on the BBC coverage the very next shot showed Vettel right behind Schumacher again just before his gearbox went.

I watched both and it was interesting that each commentary team picked up on different things. Both coverages were good, but to be honest neither were as good as the BBC last year - I just think it is a real shame the BBC didn't want to keep the coverage as I think Brundle and DC were a better duo than either of the current pairings and Jake is better than Simon, but Damon is less sycophantic and outlandish than Eddie.

It's got all the makings of a epic season though...

Gotta agree with this, wanted to get into it but just couldn't, the commentators on BBC like the sound of their own voices too much, I hope I can find more interest in the next race but this one did nothing for me, I was really disappointed as had got quite fired up for it. I turned it off as they cross the line as wasn't interested in watching any more so can't comment on any of the press talks after.
