Ill be trying "sport lemon"

And was told yesterday one called "whizzbang"

MrMagoo 12-03-2012 08:52 AM

wiziwig.eu alledgedly indexes live sport streams. Obviously I've never used it myself...

Right, we have sky but I don't bend over and pay for the HD package or sports, but there is a Sky Sports F1 channel and a Sky Sports F1 HD channel. I can view the non HD channel at the moment, is this likely to be shut down does anyone know or can I still watch F1 on that?

Sorry, that will be shut down later this week, they are tempting you by letting you watch it for a while then an hour before the race starts.................dreaded blue screen :woot:

Sadly, no he isn't
SKY F1 you need to have a sports pack,
SKY F1 HD you need to have the HD option, but you don't need the sports as well.

Yeah, it's not great. Luckly Ihave the HD package so it doesn't effect me ATM. Although I have sacked them for my Sports and movies while I was in a sulk with them :)

Not good for the sport though :(

Virginmedia want £22.50 a month for me to watch F1, as I have to buy the Sky Sports package!!

john333 12-03-2012 11:35 AM

I'm sticking with the BBC, not many are live but believe they're showing the whole race a few hours later, plus I like the presenters more than the Sky ones.

john333 12-03-2012 11:39 AM

Another thing is we've got an HD sky box but not an HD telly, don't know if it would even work if I went with the £10 HD option as our HDML lead isn't plugged in?

Burty248 12-03-2012 04:35 PM

BBC will show all races with commentary just a few hours later, in most cases races an be very early in the morning so it is ok.

Bad thing though that on the BBC you don't get to listen to Martin Brundle who is a great commentator.

BBC i player will also most likely have all the races on it just with only a selected few being live.

Don't quote me, but in theory yes. Whilst I have a skyHD box (and HD subscription), I've got it connected to the TV by both Scart and HDMI. When viewing it via scart I can watch the HD channels but obviously not in HD.

BBC are only showing higlight packages for the races that they aren't showing live.

I believe that early morning races will have the highlights early afternoon and the early afternoon races will have the highlights early evening.

Wiziwig or wizwig

both work great for Football and i believe there will be people hosting F1 as well.

I would recommend sopcast feeds as they are generally a little better, one point of note though is you have to put up with whatever commentary provide by the stream as they are broadcast with a delay.

I was watching football a few months back and had the radio on at the same time, sadly the radio was about 1 minute ahead so i had to settle for a dutch commentary until half time.

As for the other races, you'll have to do some work yourself on race weekends, no doubt FOM will try and stop any streams rather quickly. Took me ages to find a stream for the Daytona 500 last weekend as all the sites hosting the support races were all taken down.

Or try and piggy back on a friends Sky subscription and use their SkyGo account.

no they will not be showing it live on iplayer

that works brother just registered my pc, can now watch it all free and live!!
so find a mate who has sky package, they get 2 x connections for pc, as above im whatching world tc as i type on eurosport!

Extended highlights.......which truth be known is more than adequate for most races!

This weekends race is being shown at 1.00pm (the normal time for a european GP - suits me just fine)

Although its a shame Brundle went to sky though.
