just had a quick look at these they look ok for the money :D |
I've used various Hobbyking products and never had any serious problems with them. Very reliable and good value.
Cheers, Rootz |
Are these be looked at as a cheap esc ??
Would a hobbywing, lrp, speed passion be a better buy ?? Also I have read that a novak esc gives problems. I have used a brushed esc in novak. And it worked well for me. Does any one on hear use novak ?? |
I would be putting my money into a known brand. You won't see the Hobbyking stuff at the tracks or in UK shops so you won't get any support or advice.

What would yous think. Would be a good buy.??
Would you buy a combo ?? |
I wouldn't buy it, looks more an esc for the basher. If your racing competitive 10.5 touring, I would go for a Hobbywing Xtreme instead for around £60 if you are on a budget, then add a 10.5 motor of your choice.
Also there should be plenty of people around to help you with settings should you get lost. Not that I run one, but many people do and say it's the best for the money. Though if you can wait a bit Hobbywing should be releasing their new esc soon, but it sounds like a HW Xtreme will be fine for you for now. Other user friendly options without raiding the piggy bank options are: Speed Passion- Reventon Hobbywing V2.1 60amp/120amp Team Wave RB Series Each under £100, so do some research, and see what you think. |
Thanks for yours help.
Will have a look at them esc. Hope to buy one in the next few days. Thanks again |
Sorry. Meant HobbyWing. Easy mistake to make, given that several HobbyWing speedo's are obviously identical to HobbyKing / Turnigy. For instance, compare these two...
http://www.hobbywing.com/product_show.asp?id=253 http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...rog_v2_2_.html Anyone who knows electronics will also know that one is not a simple knock-off of the other. HobbyWing became popular because people bought them from HobbyKing and realised they were at least as good as the more expensive brand name ESC's. Cheerz! Rootz |
