Brca legal esc?

Do esc's have to be brca compliant or is just the motors and lipo?

i doid not read anywhere for such a rule but think if you already have to have a legal motor is good thing to have high level esc to sqweeze the max out it, i have an lrp spx but do not ever heard that someone is using it on big competitions. I think that only rule is that the esc must be 7,2v powered.

I'm looking at getting Orion saddles with a speed passion motor but didn't know if i needed a speed passion esc

The only time an ESC needs to be on a BRCA list is if you are running a "blinky" stock class that requires it. Most recent racing ESCs are on that list anyway.

Any sensored brushless ESC should be able to run any sensored brushless motor, you don't need to keep the same brand. Although you might find that there are more gearing and ESC/motor setups available if you use a combination that other people are using.

You don't need a Speed Passion ESC, but it is quite a good choice anyway.

It's a mode for stock racing that has no advanced timing from the ESC.

Is this legal?

Linky no worky!
If you are talking about 10th off road then there are no brca requirements for escs

the BRCA rules for batteries and motors don't apply to short course trucks nor are there any esc rules/restrictions

Dazzler 09-03-2012 02:49 PM

Have a look at the homologation lists here for what you can use.

http://www.brca.org/?q=content/homol...-updates/14218

Batteries are fine, speedo is fine! Had a quick look and that motor doesn't seem to be on the lists. I'd take a close look yourself.

Hope that helps.. But as above, this is for 1/10 off road, not SC.

apologies will that motor isnt on the list (i thought it was) but as has been said if your using it in the blitz it makes no difference as short course has yet to be acknowledged as a BRCA sanctioned class.

that is the speed passion motor i meant, still a very good price when you look at lrp nosram tekin etc etc:thumbsup:

although dont forget if its for your blitz yoou may want something more in the 10.5t area and use the timing advance to adjust your top speed as anything more than that really is too much on most tracks

Hpi_guy 09-03-2012 03:48 PM

Ahh I wondered why I couldn't find the motor on he lost, cheers Dave and I'm still going to go for brca compliant gear as I can they swich it into the buggy
