I just rebuilt my slipper and diff in my cougar sv,added new pads new spur gear and new male and female outdrives to diff.I went step by step in the manual put everything together and tried a test run.The slipper was spinning so I tighten it down all the way when car is rasied boath tyres spin and all looks good then went you set it down tyres dont spin and the slipper just spins and car barley moves.
went back tighten the scerw in the diff and still no luck....

whats slipping the diff or the slipper?
if its the slipper make sure all the spacers are in correct and check the pads are seated propperly
if its the diff
make sure all washers and bearings are in right place and adjuts out of the car and make sure it doesnt slipp before installing it in the car

Might be worth checking the nut on the spur side hasn't worked loose.

Todd,
Check the diff circlip is in the circlip groove, sounds like it might have come out.

Yeah got it figured out now it was to much oil on the diff balls and the plates were just spining ,but I did go through the whole diff and check out that everything was in place and working order

you should use the correct diff silicone grease, this is designed to prevent slip.

Hi if you have used a U3365 slipper set ( as rebuild kit) take care the bushing in this kit is for 4wd only the bushing from the cougar is longer ( bushing inbetween the bearing on the slipper shaft )..
If you made the same mistake as i did last year , replace again the two bearing because they gonna break . Good luck
