costs and tack/venue requirments

Interested in your opinions.

The modern world, everything has gone up in price, fuel(huge), rent, interest, etc etc....

But the RC world, seems to have escaped the major inflation world. Kits are about the same in relation to what they were 20 yeas ago.

tack/club racing to.....

So. what decides where you race and how you spend your hard earned dosh?

I think that the entry fee for clubs and big events is amazingly low when you factor in the cost of rents, insurance, track costs etc etc etc....

I am doing a poll. for interest just to find out what we all decide is the important factors when making a booking or heading off to our weekday evening or Sunday race meet.............

well

Location is an obvious one and expected........
Friendly/fun, Great, thats what i thought........
start/end times, Interesting, i guess an early start is not the best then?
Features/track, again I am glad got some votes as after all its what we have these buggies for right!

Cheers for the replies. Think its interesting what we think and the poll has had great voting so far....... Keep it going.......

I had to go with all of the above because I couldn't choose between some of them. Tracks are generally quite a drive for me, nothing on my doorstep so to speak, next nearest 45 miles.

Because of that the location comes into it quite a bit, and then because of the traveling the cost of getting into the club also comes up.

Of course friendly banter and a great circuit with facilities improves everything else. I think the only thing that doesn't worry me is how big the jumps are, I'd rather have something that's good to race on and keep everyone at a competitive level than a more 'fun / bashing' type track where you get 'big air' on the jumps.

Each to their own though. I'd sure if you asked 100 people without the multiple choice option you'd get 100 different answers !

Time is the big one for me - not start/end so much as day of the week. Simple fact is that Sunday is really my only choice so whilst there have been good clubs runing near me other days I just can't go to them.

After that its the friendly banter bit, but again thats not to say other clubs near me aren't friendly too, mine works better for me than others. YMMV.

The key part though is did I enjoy myself? Track, people, racing - doesn't really matter which one makes it fun, as long as it is fun!

very interesting

So, location, yes well. we all knew that.

but a friendly fun track/venue with some decent features and a decent start and end time seems to be the main requirements.

the other factors, while some think its important, just in the most part, are not a major player in your choice of venue.

well. its an interesting poll and I hope you all enjoy your racing whwre ever you race !!!!!!!!!!!:D;)
