Alternative Vega Body

14 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys....just wanted to share some pics of my RB5 Vega with you.
It it fitted with a 'Phat Bodies' Rocco shell & if I do say so myself looks pretty amazing. So if you are looking for an alternative to the original shell and cannot wait for the 'Lee Martin' shell from Team Xtreme....give Phat Bodies a go....I love having a one off but feels good to be sharing the love!!

Big, Big thanks to Si at Phat Bodies for all his help and Dave from Custom Graphix for sorting out fitting and painting my new colours on this wicked looking shell!
Cheers for stopping by!
Craig

Rocco

Rocco shell was originaly designed for the TLR 22 :)

I love it when somebody puts the effort in and experiments to find a new shell that fits, thus creating one of those 'what the hell is that' moments track side :)

Phat Bodies rock always and Si Osbourne makes some beautiful lines in his shells. For those who don't know he is also a real talent with the airbrush! :)

Shell looks wicked, well done for trying something fresh

Which motor plate & cover is that from?

RudeTony 03-03-2012 08:01 AM

Looks very nice Craig

The motor plate and gear cover are the original RB5 ones.
It is a perfect fit once you skim a straight edge off the bottom of them both. I have it pinched between the vega motor holder and the motor fixings bolts...just use slightly longer ones and voila - made to measure!!

I think it looks ok..

I do love the paint job though and this definately makes a difference. I think it looks too much like a 22 from a distance but each to their own.

picture 7 is my favorite though craig; in it's normal postition lol..

Will there only be the one new body for the Vega, there appeared to be a couple of variations in use.

There won't be any other versions to the shell.

If you are refering to the shell that Lee Martin used at Area 51, that shell was actually a rush job for Lee hence why Kevin and I were not using it - as gorgeous as it looked painted up in his colours, it won't be put in production.....
Apart from some final detailed work, the shell seen on my car is the shell being made.
i am sure different colour schemes will make it look even nicer than mine too!

ps - I believe the original shell will still be available though

Mrs.TeamXtreme 05-03-2012 03:29 PM

Hi Guys,

Just to clarify that the older type shell will still be available, the 2nd Generation shell will be availble soon.
Below are links to them both:
