Novak GTB / 4.5R / LRP x11 5.5 Brake
 

Hi all,

Been running a Novak GTB / 4.5R combination where the brake was exceptional. However, it it was a bit too quick so i have switched to a LRP 5.5 motor which is better except that the brakes are poo.

As anyone had any experience of this? i.e is it the just the motor or is it the Novak / LRP combination causing this? Can i improve the braking through the ESC settings?

Any help appreciated.

The LRP wont have a sintered rotor, get the sintered rotor and fit it and the brales will be back up to scratch :thumbsup:

ok cheers Josh, cant seem to find any in stock anywhere though. Does anybody know of anywhere?

Also what size should i get?

Is it smaller size (i.e 12.5mm) = more rpm / less torque??

Not sure on what dia. to get but demon have one in stock:

the brakes are turned up quite high as this was a personal preference of mine. Read the instructions for the dead-stick/Drag brake setting and turn it down slightly if it is too aggressive.
Brushless motors tend to "freewheel" a bit more than the old brushed motors so you will need a bit of drag to make it feel the same. I turned mine up a little more as i preferred it that way.

thanks jim, i ran the setup when i got it which it says in the manual should reset to factory defaults. It was just the difference between the 4.5 novak and 5.5 lrp braking. But i will play around with the drag / settings and see if i can improve it a bit.
