xxxcr build

Hi all

just building my new xxxcr and the new chassis material seems crap. Putting on the little rear body mounts and the thread just falls apart! it seems very brittle has anyone else found this?

Don't hold back on your thoughts! :D

I read some other comments like this on rctech.net, seems a few people have had the same problem. I guess the new material needs a gentle hand so it doesn't strip ? Maybe you can try using longer screw or even..... glue ? :(

Yes ive heard this, which is why ive stayed on with the graphite chassis!
You do have to be careful not to strip these new plastics though, not sure how they would hold up after a few rebuilds if your having problems with the first one :s

I have been using the tapping screw as per the manual its just I was a bit annoyed at the rear body post thingys as the thread only pokes out about 2mm so there isnt much to bite into.

I had the same issue with my new build. By the body posts I guess you mean the lugs that the shell locates over? If so, I did without mine and used velcro along each side to hold on the shell. To be fair, these were the only screws/holes that stripped easily.

I had problems with this car, it wasnt that things were stripping (altough they are now keep changing parts) i had problems with things being brittle and cracking under a little tighten (not overtight),

Just change the screw for a longer one like most do.
