Hi,
Are you still open for practice this coming sunday ?

eyeayen 27-02-2012 11:17 PM

It's not officially reopened yet but I think if you help with some of the work, what's left of it anyway you can run your car. Might be best to go onto the Clanfield forum ( as linked above ) and ask ?

ballistic bolwell 28-02-2012 08:49 PM

the track is now open ever sunday 11am till 4pm,£10 for the day, please post me or text me if your coming ,dont want to sit there if no one is coming,

jaffacake 29-02-2012 09:38 AM

ouch!!

£10 on an unfinished track does seem a little steep.

How much is it going to be when the track opens for a day of racing ?

ballistic bolwell 29-02-2012 07:51 PM

track is finished, sorry what can you do for £2 per hour nowadays and remember tracks are not free to run, they come with alot of bills which any club committe will tell you ,

What, still? FFS Tone, check out the local college for evening classes on computer literacy.....and maybe simple literacy too :p:p

But by pricing practice the same as an all day regional event surely your dis-wading people from coming along, 5 people paying £10 or maybe 20 paying £7 or £8???

By pricing it too high you'll just put people off coming at all!! South hants did a similar thing by increasing their indoor club night fees to try to raise money to resurface their outdoor track and all they've managed to do is to decrease their numbers! For people who didn't know, they went along for one night and never went again.

don't bother mush, just leave it be.

ballistic bolwell 29-02-2012 10:24 PM

always hard to please everyone ,just remember some poeple will pay £120 to race for 4days soon and just look at how much track time they get,if you go go-karting your pay £15 for 15mins,that works out at £300 for 5hours,or look at a packet of fags, this is what most clubs charge for a race or practice day and has been this price for as long as i can remember,

eyeayen 29-02-2012 11:33 PM

I was really looking forward to Clanfield reopening as I now have a car I can run there but at 110 mile round trip plus a £10 entry fee I won't be coming that much.

I just looked at the club 12 mile down the road from me, it's only £5, another one locally is £8 if you're not a member and £2 if you are a member. Torch is similar, £8 for non members and £6 if you're a member.

Perhaps this needs to be looked at again or the numbers won't come up...

ballistic bolwell 01-03-2012 08:47 PM

as i said i would love to please everyone and only charge £5,but this venue has high rent and running costs as not a flat track or astro turf,if you want dirt and big jumps it costs sorry to say, would be nice if drivers would be please to see that someone is willing to put their hand in their own pocket and get a track running, its only old clubs that have cheap entry because they have old rent costs

eyeayen 01-03-2012 09:47 PM

None of the clubs I've mentioned are old, Torch hasn't been there that long, South Coast have been there less than 5 years too.

I'll come up on the 25th to see what it's like and return some completed shells to people but if I'm going to spend an hour travelling I'd rather go somewhere else that's cheaper than the entry you're charging.

If it's run as a club there should be an annual fee that members pay and then they get a good discount on race day fees, if it's a flat fee every time I really think it needs to be lowered. As far as I'm aware most of the old members aren't interested, a lot of them are running electric now so if you want to get new people to the club I think you should look over it and see if it can be reduced ?

The other thing is if it's going to be that high an entry fee people will expect a tip top track every time they visit !
