Modelsport poor service

Has anyone else had any dealings with modelsport ? I ordered some hudy stuff from them late in december and paid through paypal. There were 5 items in total I was given a 7-10 day wait time due to some items being out of stock, But I am still waiting for 3 of them they have already debited my account and they cant tell me when I will get the outstanding items

Got to be honest, never had anything but brilliant service from Modelsport, they appear to have been let down by their supplier, give them a call and i am sure they will refund for the items and cancel the order.

I have emailed them a couple of times sent them another one today will ring them tomorrow for a refund if Im not happy with the reply.

I will defend Modelsport on this one, when I used to work in the shops Hudy parts always were a pain in the bum, wether it was Mirage or RC Disco supplying them.

I tend to go through more specialist shops now, but when I used Modelsport in the past they were always very good, with prompt delivery..

Used Modelsport for years by internet orders and have never had a problem with them. Top quality service normally. Probably just a one off glitch.

Is it the first time you've had a problem with them?

slipknot666 20-02-2012 07:18 PM

yea i have to leap to modelsports defence here as i too have had a good few years using them when i started out and ive had nothing but first class service. I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation. the only thing i dont like however has happened recently which is this stupid automated stuff when you ring them up and having to wait on hold for a while but other than that super service.

I think the problem maybe that in the current finacial climate quite a few shops are worried about having loads of stock sitting on the shelf,in the old days you rang up and asked if it was in stock, but these days with websites it is to easy to list loads of items from all the importers etc you deal with, what should happen if you have a sale is the importer will have what the customer want's on the shelf, ready to dispatch to the shop, then to you the customer,BUT now the importer is also worried about holding to mutch stock...so no stock,no parts, unhappy customer

Most buisness want there cake and eat it now, they want to sell somthing and have the money, well before the invoice hits their desk,

Also everyone is worried about dead stock, and this can happen easily with a hobby like RC were trends can be fast moving, and you can be left with a box of say tyres that no one wants.

this is accross the bord, not just RC:bored:

Nothing but praise here, almost gobsmacked by how quick things have arrived tbh.

jamiekerr14 20-02-2012 07:37 PM

+1 on Modelsport nothing but positive from me, don't use them that much but when I did it was delivered quickly. Hudy stuff, best bet is RCDisco if they don't have stock.. no many if any in the UK will then have stock.

smarkham 20-02-2012 07:56 PM

Its the first time I have ordered from them thats why I posted this will see what happens tomorrow when i ring them as they didnt reply to my email today

Only ever had quick prompt reliable service from them.

Give them a call.

shortcoursegoat 20-02-2012 09:46 PM

had a mix up with a order of them in the past but they rectified it promptly, otherwise always get things next day. the thing i dont like about them is there online stock system, would prefer it to be like je or mb with an actual number in stock rather than instock, good stock etc like they use. in my experience instock now means 1 only from them.

Nas 20-02-2012 09:48 PM

I order from them quite often.
NEVER EVER had any problems with them, top service, sometimes the item arrives next day! :o.Usually 2 days though.

Thanks.

Thumbs up for Modelsport, been using them for years, never an issue. You're just unlucky i'm afraid

/tobys 20-02-2012 09:53 PM

Have used them a few times and always been very pleased with the service.

Jay Smith 20-02-2012 10:54 PM

I always order from shops that have given me the best service in the past and have to say ModelSport is one of them. Good website and always had quick delivery in the past.

Alfie 21-02-2012 06:21 AM

I have to agree with most & if I need something promptly I will use modelsport!

If ordering AM your order is usually with you the next day, you must be one of the unlucky few!
