BRCA Legal Lipo's

Hi,
I would like to buy some new brca legal lipos as I'm thinking about doing the regionals this summer, what are you guys using and why?
I would guess a lot use the orion carbon as these seem to have the best specs on paper but has anyone tried a cheaper set and how do they compare?

Thanks
Alan

Alan
Orion 5500 90c and never look back.
Mine are 12 months old and I have raced every week, sometimes twice a week and sometimes even more than that.
They are absolutely the best so remember to buy the once, not twice.

I think Inside Line Racing has an offer at the mo

Another shout for the Orion 5500 90c ... fantastic performance & trouble free for over a year too :)

Personally, I'd be waiting for any of the latest 2012 LiPo's to be available. I would think that anything you buy now will be last years. That said, you probably wouldn't gain any real noticeable performance difference so maybe it's better to get some of last years if you can find them on offer.

Thanks for the link, some free advertising for your trouble

Aren't the 2012 orions the ones with the inserts? (stick pack) So in other words less battery for your money?

Looks like Orion are doing the short / weight insert packs for 2012, but if you look on the section of the list for last years's batteries there is also a spec for a 2012 version of last year's batteries.

That's an interesting concept if you ask me as it seems highly unlikely that a battery can gain 20g and it's capacity / discharge current not change. Which means for me either last year's label, or this year's label isn't accurate. I think it's fair to say that some companies have a different outlook on battery labelling - and in fairness this isn't something that's new to LiPo batteries.
