Kyosho

Hi all what is the differene between the Kyosho zx-5 SP Pro and just the normal Kyosho zx-5 SP. I didnt no there was a pro one untill i searched some websites!

As far as I am aware there is no "Pro" version ....... not sure what they could do to the SP to up it's spec apart from include a 1-way or all the tuning options.

Get an SP, build it, race it, smile!!!!

I have seen websites (ebay I think is one) describing the SP as "PRO".... this is just wording from the retailer to indicate its the top end model.

I have also seen ebay retailers using SP in the description of the RTR version which is just nonsense.

Read the threads here and you will find there are two versions of the SP... the older one is an orignal zx5 kit with a conversion pack, the other is fully retail packaged as SP. Both are good value, I went for the fully retail packaged SP -it comes with proper socket head screws and shock bodies with extended threads, but no one way options included.

If you buy the conversion package you get the all one way option parts but cross head screws.

Search the posts int he forum to see the exact spec differences.

so if i was 2 bid on the newer model of the lazer zx-5 SP it would be this 1 below!

and not this 1!

I recon the first one is a kit, ZX-5 SP, from the states, possibly the same as you would buy as a "SP" kit anywhere (with the latest parts but no oneway's), the second one is the RTR, original ZX-5 sold as a "ready to run" with motor, reciever & transmitter, may need some hop up parts. (there are posts on here that cover the RTR - great starter value)

As a note, I dont recon that this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kyosho-Lazer-Z...QQcmdZViewItem is an "SP" but is the same "RTR" set, its described as a SP in the title, possibly a mistake, these things being such a niech market - even the sellers are not sure what they are.

Go for the first one as it does have the correct kit model number '30077B' in the listing just before the 'features'. but the pic is of the readyset model.
ebay rules say (roughly) that item description is the the contract of sale and not the pictures.

The pic appears to be correct to me, possibly the "bullet" shell, ready set has straight line windows, any way, $300 and still going plus postage and a good chance of customs/post office charges, must be worth telephoning a few UK shops, RacePlace, DC, Microtech, and DMS spring to mind..................are the two Steels from Liverpool the same ?

DanW 25-03-2008 08:58 PM

At $300+ its too exspensive to bother importing, UK retail is approx £200.

You should be able to pick one up in the UK no problem because a consignment of the latest full retail boxed version landed from Japan last week.

There are UK stockists with the conversion style kits still on the shelf so make sure you know what your getting. Although maybe they would give extra discount on the conversion style kits?
