Standard slim minispikes with about 4 rows of spikes removed and glued back together.
Or slim minispikes glued on the inner third of the rim and then pulled down on the outer part of the rim and glued there again

The are normal 2wd minipins with the beading cut off, and then mountied on the wheel, to make them low profile.

Paul Upton had them on his car as well, and was telling me how to do it.

do you have to remove anything from the circumference? And what is the advantage?

What are the benefits of low profile tyres, less side bite?

they take the snatch away that pins normally give, they worked very well for me and i liked them very much, i had a car that was easy to drive on pins. i know Tom ended up running normal pins in the end as he felt they were quicker for him.

Look a bit like the mini pins for use on early scale saloons...

Where's the low profile tyre howto guide Puppers?

It was something we used to do for Belgium GP when they allowed it.

We'd take a new tyre, cut the beading off upto the bottom of the writting. Then cut diagnoly following spike pattern, and cut again 3-4 rows - to bin. Re-glue together the smaller diameter tyre, then glue the remaining sidewall to the inside edges of the wheel.

Worked awesome. Never came unglue either as long as washed thoroughly beforehand and dried.

this isnt BRCA legal though chris as its a cut and shut.

Never said it was Paul, and even so what does it matter for people who don't do BRCA events - only club?

BRCA played no part in the Belgium GP, it was the organisers there who banned it but before they did, that is what we did. Was just saying how to as someone asked.

Welcome to try it at any club meeting ofcause.

Chris, was only pointing this out. As for the people who only do club meetings of course they can do what they like (unless the club adopts BRCA rules of course ;) )

BUT, this way is much easier and less hassle to do than cutting parts of the tyre out....and legal :thumbsup:
