tc3 spares
 
im looking at getting a few parts for my tc3 (electric not nitro)

ive found a place in the usa that does botom arms, hubs and front drive shafts, but having no luck with other parts

does any one know anywhere in the uk that does parts?

im also struggling with the wheel nuts they seam to be 9mm hex but i cant get a nut driver on to them when the wheels are on (ive had to use long nose pliars) Do any others fit with a smaller hex, ive tried my tamiya ones but there a different thread

Hi,
Most the TC3 spares are still available from the distributor including wishbones, steering blocks & castor blocks and the compsite driveshafts.
Any shop that deals with CML will be able to order those in for you and the distributor can still get them from AE.

The wheel nuts are imperial not metric so you'll need 8/32 thread nuts and an 11/32 driver to tighten them with.

Not sure on the rear hub system is on your car though - but it's not the standard TC3 set-up.
Looks like the front set-up is replicated on the rear. This does give the option of adjusting the toe-in, but using it with a castor block doesn't seem right if it is changing the anti-squat - unless they are the 0 degree blocks... Might also want to be careful if you need wishbones for the back - they may have been changed for front ones so the other items fit.

That looks like a real bitsa!

Not very much actual TC3 left on that. Even things like the arms and hubs look a bit different, but I don't know what car they have come from, and that rear hub setup is very unusual.

Personally speaking, I'd be wary of spending too much on putting "TC3" bits on it because they might not fit. Best place to find them is eBay or the "old stock" boxes in the back of model shops. I'd try and sell it on and get something a bt more current with better spares availability and fewer "specialist" modifications, I can see lots of hassle for you in the future with that one when it goes wrong.

As far as the wheel nuts go, they are imperial, you need an 11/32" driver to tighten them, the thread is also different to the metric M4 nuts. It's a 8-32 nut, you can get them as a spare as they are still used by some AE cars.

ah right cheers i just bought it as a tc3 and it was very cheap so thought it would be ok for some fun. sounds like id be best getting rid tho and trying something else
