LAW40

I've just brought a secound hand Lazer ZX-5 FS and ordered the LAW40 stiffener. Whats the rule of thumb to run the stiffener? Is it better suited to high or low grip tracks?

Not sure if it would make a difference, but the car has a load of up-graded parts so its practically an FS2 but with an FS chassis.

The LAW40 is designed to increase the longitudinal stiffness which increases forward traction. Use it when you feel your lacking a bit in that area and no other setup changes are suitable.

I would recomend the carbon top decks as well (I've only run Nick Caro's so can't comment on the Kyosho ones) as these improve the traction too.

I "believe" (meaning in theory ... not got a Kyosho deck to hand) that the Kyosho deck is a uni-directional weave. This will add stiffness in one plane (in this case along the chassis) not the other, Nick's decks are an inter-woven crossed layup so add stiffness in both directions (although from looking at mine and given the weave information I have it adds more longitudinal than lateral stiffness).

Cheers Roger, I'll give it a try at Chadderton on Sunday.
