which 2wd car for club racing?
 

I am looking to buy a 2wd buggies for club racing.
Im looking at ansmann mad monkey kit. and there is X2C.
any reason worth paying £60 odd over on XC2 than mad monkey?

Is the mid mount worth it?

Mad monkey has no bearing, fair enough but £60 more?

Im lookingg for car that accept stick pack and mid motor setup. any more suggestion?


My budget is £200 ish, that must include ESC and motor. but i got battery and tx/rx already.


my short list is are B4.1 RTR, asmann mad monkey, XC2 kit, Losi 22 RTR (what a incrediable value! but sadly out of my budget)

For value for money if your wanting to buy brand new in buy the b4.1 :)

2nd hand X6,i have seen a couple on here for sale

I got into racing in the summer of last year with a similar budget in mind, and to be honest I found it unrealistic.

For that kind of money it is possible to get on the track with a new car, but you are going to find that you will need to/want to upgrade fairly quickly to be more competitive so you will end up spending considerably more than your budget but over a longer period of time.

I decided to scrap my budget in the end, thinking along the lines of getting it right first time and spending what was required to buy new of everything that would enable me to keep up with the other cars on the track.

In doing so though I spent about £700 rather than the £200 I had originally hoped.

Im not saying this was the right or wrong thing to do, its just what I did...

If I were you knowing what I know now, and £200 was a non negotiable budget then I would look on here in the for sale section for a used car. A quick scan shows that there have been 3 or 4 Cougar SV's advertised in the last 24 hours, all for around the £100-£125 mark. If you already have batteries and TX/RX then you could used the remainder for an ESC etc.

If you want to go new, then I would just get the best specification car that you possibly can regardless of make and model as it will reduce the amount you need to spend on it in the long run..... :thumbsup:

They'll be lots of Cougars for sale as the new one is coming out very soon, very good car for the money (£100 ish or slightly more)

In the end, i decided to go for Losi 22 RTR simply because i got existing spektrum radio set, and it looked great. it has sensored motor / esc setup. it has everything i need for 2wd racing. Just needed to save the money now :P

If i went for AE B4.1 i need to buy spektrum reciever, in the end the cost will be nearly same.

I already got lipo battery charger, and tools, batteries from my onroad stuff which i do still race.
