Phat Bodies "in the works"

Thought that I would post up some pics of some moulds we're working on at the mo ....

as the title says, these are "in the works" and are by no means the finished job, but thought some of you might like to see how they're done

First up, a mould for a new body for the Associated B44.1.

Not a real forward cab as such, more mid but with a few tweeks to get some more front end to it .....

Let me know what you think ....

what do you make the mould from, is it some kind of plaster?

As a painter, I am not a fan of deep recesses, like the rear of the cockpit, it makes painting a pain....

But with the deep trough at the rear and a sharp vertical face, won't that be more rearward rather than adding steering, Si?

You can't really see in the pics, but the front window is actually quite steep, and with raised sides should contain the air flow better here for more front end, we are also testing with deep scoops to the front of the side pods for even more front end than last time out, not sure how they will work yet, kinda depends on how this part is cut on the car.

I must admit it is the kind of body that needs the paint designed around the contours, but doesn't that usually make for a good look anyway ??? :p

It's a little tricky to see it the pics, but the cab is further forward than the the std B44 body, and much further forward than it looks ...

Results from testing so far have been promising ...
