do you use touring car rims on your 1/16th

Karting 06-02-2012 04:55 PM

touring car rims are 'standard practise' in 1/16th , from club races all the way to national level

the club were running at uses foams but im not sure what shore to start with looking at the contact tyres if this helps any help much appreciated the club is wycombe

rondoolaa 06-02-2012 06:30 PM

i use touring car wheels too, karting is right, standard practise to use tc wheels

i use dish wheels with tc slicks for carpet,
foam for carpet and shumacher rally blocks, whites or yellows for wood or vinyl surfaces,

furball85 06-02-2012 08:46 PM

im looking at the contact tyres and rims but dont know what shore to use

lardy37 06-02-2012 09:24 PM

Looks a lot like high Wycombe, try 35 front 30 rear if you are not running adative a little harder if you are

lardy37 06-02-2012 10:57 PM

when we ran all carpet using the gecko tyre we ran 37 front and 32 rear then used the contacts and they give more grip and found it made the motor get hot so went to 40 front and 35 rear but now we run some carpet some polished floor we use schumacher rally blocks yellow if you want them to last or white if you dont mind them wearing out a bit quicker but loads of grip on all surfaces

Im a regular down there, so first of all;

Welcome Along

Currently we get around 10 drivers on a Saturday night which is alot more relaxed. Monday nights we get another 10 drivers but is slightly more serious.

Everyone apart from 1 person runs foams (he use's rallyblocks) at Wycombe, but to be fair the guy who does run rubbers is always in the top half of the grid.

If you do decide to run foam its 30 shore front and 35 shore rear.

Either way i think you will enjoy it using which ever tyres you choose.

The GP12 this coming weekend looks to be having a grid of around 15-17micros so there will be plenty of people around to ask.

Also there are plently of people there willing to lend/sell you spares for Losi mini 8ights or LRP Sharks/FTX blaze

If you mean the Caster F18 you will need the caster 12mm hex adaptors as the axles arent very long on the F18 and you wont have enough thread to tighten your wheel nuts if you use standard hex adaptors for 1/18 cars. I had standard ones on my rc18 which worked but i couldnt use them on my f18. The caster ones are narrower.

RcAshers on here sells them.

I do keep lookig at the caster micro myself but as im a very hit or miss driver ive stuck with sOmething which has loads of spares.

Get to the track on sunday early if possible to try and grab space next to us other micro drivers otherwise you could be stuck by the mardaves :)

Where you coming down from?

furball85 08-02-2012 01:43 PM

ok mate where do the micro guys usually get? by the door or by the banger track? gonna be using kits on sunday lol just to get use to the car etc yea the caster is a nice car lol, did order a ftx but nothing came of it, looked at the associated but with the demise of the 18ths at national level i decided to get something that fitted in the 16ths lol looked at the carisma but was out of my price range especially as i am buying 2 of everything:)

Karting 08-02-2012 01:51 PM

Normally we are down by the banger track. Ill prob get to the track for 7.30-7.45 to help where needed and claim my spot early! ;)

furball85 08-02-2012 03:42 PM
