Speed Passion V3 Motor Connections

Just purchased a new speed passion V3 motor. And the connectors for the motor wires are useless!

After soldering the motor wires to connectors, I pushed them on and they just keep popping off. This is with out routing them to the new esc that is coming on Tuesday.

I can see them not staying on in normal use. Do you think i could send the motor back and get a refund. The motor has not been used.

I have one of those and the connectors are spot on, not loose or anything, maybe you should send it back?

I've had to slightly crimp the connector with pliers before to get a better fit - if you try this, don't overdo it!

They certainly shouldnt pop off, they should be a tight fit or else they will overheat during use. Id ask if they will send you a new set of connectors or exchange the motor. They are good motors, a lot of the front runners use them. Nice and smooth !

I'll give MB models a ring on Monday see what they think.

I want the motor, looked at loads before i came to this choice. Sure it will get sorted.

there just 3.5mm tubes, used on heli an aero brushless motors try some new ones.

One of my coenctions was loose and when I crimped it would just desolder itself.

Get it changed if unused.

Schumacher are really helpfull so contact them if any issues.

Give them a light crimp=that should solve it. Had similar issues until I did that..

did you solder them to the wires while they were still attached to the motor?
never really had problems with em

Took them off to solder. When i took them off they were quite tight.

Drilled some holes in the mdf bench cover i have to hold them. Tinned wires and connectors. Soldered the connections.

I have tweaked the male and female parts of the connectors and they are nice and tight again.

I think i'm also going to use a more flexible 12 awg to try and reduce flex in the wire.

Anyone got a good supplier for silicone 12 awg (4mm2) cable?

Had a similar problem with SP motor.
If you know what you are doing take the back plate off the motor and the (tension spring on the male plugs on the motor can be ,Either taken off and replaced as they are like a c clip or they can be retensioned with a small blade by sticking it in the slots and opening out a little)
Hard to describe but easier to do !!
don`t know if this makes sense.
I just replaced the tension springs with new ones which i took off std male plugs.
