The XERun is sensored. The version pictured is a 2.0 which is slightly older (now on 2.1), but I don't think it makes a difference to the general performance, my ESC is 2.0-based and can run all the current software. The motor pictured is also Hobbywing's older version. I don't know the seller so can't comment on how reliable they are.

It is a good ESC. The Hobbywing motor should be OK, although 5.5 is quite fast, most racers would go for the slightly milder 6.5 in 4wd, and if you are not that experienced or on a small track you might be better off with something even milder than that, anything down to a 10.5.

thanks ive been looking at 9.5's too but read somewere that they would be slow in a 4wd but sounds like they would be better for me

so this would be a better bet then

That would be worse. Perhaps the power is more manageable, but it is sensorless and may not have the smooth control at low speed.

I would seek out a Hobbywing v2.1 controller with a 6.5 or milder motor.
