Any issues with having long wires on ESC powercap?
Are there any issues with running a long wire between the ESC and the Power Capacitor?
I'm running a Speedpassion GT Pro and the included powercap won't fit in the same sidepod on my DEX210. So far, I've used a smaller LRP capacitor but would prefer to use the large multi-cap unit that came with the speedo. It looks like I can only do this if I mount the larger powercap on the opposing sidepod, next to the RX. Doing this will mean using a much longer pair of wires to connect it up. The wires to the powercap are generally quite thin so guess don't handle much current either? Thoughts/comments? Cheers guys  |
Its not a current issue really, its about potential interferance. Capacitors discharge in a very lumpy way and this creates a lot of noise, long wires will allow this noise to interfere with more components on the car.
I would use a twisted cableand run it as far from anything electrically delicate as you can. |
So I might be better staying with the smaller LRP powercap I already have fitted?

or use the tiny speed passion one
