Which kind of paint is this?

Where can I find this kind of grey? Could it be the PS 23 Gun Metal from Tamiya?

Ive used the tamiya stuff and it looks similar to me yes though im not sure what he actually used.

I think Lee Martin Painted that shell, not sure if it is 'out of the can' or special mixed

that look slike a light coat of pearl charcoal followed by faskrome, then black, all faskolor colours.

i would have said fastint then faschrome

To get a grey looking sheel try :

Mixing a bit of black with a lot of white :)

Thanks for your opinions! So it's probably a mix, where could I find a similar grey "out of the can",and not as "metal" as the Tam PS23, please?

How does the charcoal look like in real? It seems to be black on Parma's site.

yea it is dark, I use the charcoal for shading. I wouldnt use it like DCM says personally, I would mix it straight with silver to get the desired shade before spraying, but thats just me.

We all have different ways in painting, Charcoal is a Pearl colour and is strongly affect by what it is backed with. I am not a great fan of mixing, as it makes it a one off, and knowing my luck, the one time I do it, I will mix just enough and then 6 months down the line, be asked for it again, lol.

I wouldnt mix different brands of paints off the shell. If you mean mix those paints ON the shell, as long as you let each coat dry properly ive not personally had a problem painting with any combination so far.. the only problem paints really that Ive had have been the alclad chrome stuff, I cant get it to stick.

the chrome paint is like your b4 jimmy if u have made the paint gods happy it wont work ,i find it easy to use hard to make it stay on

Alclad is AWEFUL, I got a jar of it and used it once, won't use it again. The best chrome by far is the Spazstix, and the aerosol stuff at that, it grips realy well (for chrome anyhows), the only other way I have found to make chrome stick is to scuff the shell, but then you lose the mirror finish.

Mixing brands, like Jim say, wait, and use the thinners based paint first, water based second.
