Zebedee

Probably been asked before but I don’t seem to be able to find it.
Mad Monkey, is there a shorter slipper clutch spring I can buy, even if it is of another model / kit. I really need to run it looser than I have it and it is right on the end of the shaft as it is.
I am sure I am not the first to have this problem, or maybe there is another solution?

hi
i pre compressed the spring a few times with pliers and swapped the nut fora unflanged m4 steel nut to get the few etxra mm and the desired clutch tension bonus being the steel nut is less likely to strip

Sorted, I had to squash the life out of the dam spring on the build so I could start the kit nut in the first place. I have fitted as you suggested a plain lock nut and ‘job’s a gudden’ as they say.
I do like cheap simple solutions, thanks

i cut 2mm off the end of the slipper plate, gave me lots more room for adjustment
