what 4wd to buy ???
 

hi all ! i was hoping to you guys might be able to point in the right direction on which 4wd buggy to buy. I'm looking at either the b44.1 or the sx3, I've been using a mi4 touring car which i like so was swayed to the sx3 but would like to see what others think. once chippenham has finished i selling up on the touring car and gonna start up with the buggy instead and want to come to torch on a regular basis, look forward to the help

POp along one weekend and have a walk around and chat to all, we don't bite!
The most common 4wd's being run by club members are the DEX410 in various formats, Tamiya and there is a sudden surge of Kyosho at the minute, but at the end of the day it will be down to what manufacturer / car you are most comfortable with!:thumbsup:

Regarding choice of cars my advice depends on how good you are with gear or ball diffs, 410 is a great car to drive and fairly reliable with plenty of people running same car. Kyosho and Tamiya are my preferred choice, the sx3 is a great car with the fact it's British designed,

Mark - Kyosho is a great car with plenty of people at TORCH that i am sure would help along with many of us on this forum for any further advice that may be needed. And it's straight out of the box too!

Seriously though, if racing regulary at a club it makes sense to get what others drive fr spares shares and set up tips.

i came down sunday and spoke to a few people who were very helpful and i think my mind is make up on the sx3 as i do prefer the schumacher, where wold i find the results for the winter championship as just want to see who's doing what with which car. the derangos look good and their was plenty about but don't really know enough about them :confused:

What are you doing electrics wise and so forth? Electrics from your TC?

i have a speed passion gt pro speedo, a speed passion 5.5t on the way and some speed passion lips too. i have around the £300 to spend but always up for a deal lol, i will prob go sx3 as i do like the build and availability of parts easily for the schumacher. unless you convince me otherwise :thumbsup:

Belt or shaft drive?

pass I've never had a decent 4wd buggy before but I've always had belt drive touring cars, but then again 99% of touring cars are. what the difference then ? i take it is different drive between drive trains :confused:

You will find the shaft drive chassis a more aggressive car with instant power and belt drive has less instant throttle with a smoother drive. So all depends if you want to be aggressive or smooth!.:thumbsup:

smooth i think is good for me, spoken to lesro and the schumacher rep is saying go for the s1 as its a easier car to drive more flex and not so critical on set up. so tomorrow i will be ordering one :thumbsup: if my lipos arrive and the motor too i could be down sunday trying the car out. now what tyres staggered fronts and mini pins yellow rear ?
