Indoor GP 2012?

Will there be an Indoor GP this year?

Martin Wallace 13-01-2012 08:25 PM

no.

its not on the ddrcc calendar for 2012.

KennyClark 13-01-2012 08:39 PM

Well maybe someone else can run one.
Ayr?

StevieD 13-01-2012 09:20 PM

Too many complaints about last years venue being cold. Thats why falkirk & ayr are trying to have a winter championship kenny using both venues.

KennyClark 15-01-2012 04:03 AM

Im not sure the fact it was cold last year has much to do with it.
The track/surface wasnt the best but with a bit of work it could be good.
The Indoor GP is a traditional race in Scotland and it would be a shame for it to disapear just when Off Road is making a big comeback.

yup agree kenny and for me the indoor gp is a one day event. its been like that for 17 odd years.

doesnt do it for me hosting it over 2-4 rounds etc. its a one off event and should be for me.

Mr Eccleston 15-01-2012 11:31 AM

We continue to work towards the Scottish Indoor Grand Prix, but if drivers don't like the venue and won't turn up there's no point on putting a meeting on. It's unlikely there will be a iGP in 2012, but perhaps something else ......

Last years venue was the first time we had the use of it, yes the track could be improved but in the time scales we had last year, we did the best, 2 full size tracks and pits was a first for Scotland.

We can of course all head back to the warm school halls we are used to, but would you be willing to pay £25 for an entry?

Indoor GP

hi
derek , if you want - we could run it at ayr for this year only? the indoor gp is a one off thing - an open meeting that is DDRCC's baby lol , but itcouldbe a compromise?

the indoor champs are satill going ahead and will make for a better scottish champ in my humble opinion as its a consistent winner thats the true champ!

bigchris 14-02-2012 07:43 PM

I got a message from Derek re patent on the indoor gp name ...

I am offering it to the racers for this year alone with hopeful co operation and guidance from Derek and team.

A meeting will go ahead on this day and I'd like it to be the indoor gp...

msxmre 15-02-2012 07:05 AM

Well what's the date then and you can count me and Dale in.
