Dex410 V3 Price increase
Just noticed the price increase on the 410 v3 kit...up to £282.65 so £20 increase on that.
The 210 kit is the same atm, wouldnt suprise me though if it goes up soon. 410R V3 has gone up aswell...£211.81. All prices taken from durango website. |
Suddenly that puts a dampener on buying one this month then

Would this not be anything to do with hobbyco buying them out?
Are durango suffering with poor finances? This is all since my 410 was sold, maybe they need me back :D;) (the last part was a joke) |
Que the almighty mouths opinion

Before you say anything my comment about hobbyco is serious, the rest is a bit of fun. |
The price went up last year, We have been advertising the new prices since the 22nd of December!
The reason, "due to increased costs in manufacturing", remember these kits still represent amazing value for money. |

Still loads of bang for your buck !!!!
|
I'm glad I bought my 410 a few hours before they put the price up :D. The same thing happened to me last year when I bought the 410R but that time it was by a day or two.

What are the differences between the r version and the full fat?
Still seems good value. I went to a club meet at oswestry with my b4 the other week, but after trying my carisma micro (GT14b) on the same day, i think my 'skills' or lack of, would be better suited to 4wd. I dont need the fastest buggy out there just something durable and low maintenence. Gear diffs and shaft drive seem pretty good to me. |

- Kuhler Bodyshell - Big Bore Shocks - Carbon Shock Towers - Carbon Flex DEX410R V3: - 'Old' Bodyshell - Small Bore Shocks (2010 Spec but with plastic hardware (lower cap, pre-tension ring etc) - Aluminium Shock Towers Both V3s have a 'lower' spec in comparison to the earlier R and 2010 spec. The 2010 had many, many aluminium parts which the V3 no longer has (Sidepods, Rear Gearbox mounts/braces, Servo framework and part of the spur gear mount to name a few things), the R V3 also misses some alu, but it's only some of the parts on the shocks I believe. It is what made it possible to make the V3s cheaper than the previous 410 releases. However, as nice as these parts are, you can wonder how much the average user or even the team drivers need those parts. Plus, there are some new parts that just make the use of the car easier/better: The inserts of the suspension blocks for example, and the higher bodyshell for better cooling (and looks imo) :) Anyway, I think the price increase may indeed be caused by financial issues at the moment. From the kit number I saw on my DEX210 I assume the numbers aren't used again on a different model. It would mean they've sold close to or just over 10000 cars - which isn't an awful lot spread over 5 models (back in October that is). From that, plus the spares, they have to fund development, production, shipping, running costs of the company, service, etc... That's not easy to say the least :o Regardless of the price increase though, the Durangos are well worth their money. I built a first batch DEX410, which absolutely blew my mind! The way the parts fit, the attention to detail, the feel of the parts, from the chassis parts to the bags, everything felt high quality. It was much the same with the DEX210, though you could see they adapted to the economic situation and aimed the design towards production in higher numbers (more injection moulded, less machined parts). Nonetheless in the quality feel of the construction and the innovative design I've yet to find a better manufacturer :p |
My first testing with the V3 today. This car is awsome!!!!!!! Stop whining and just get one already .-)))

Just want to add something about the post I made earlier. If you see the shortage of models they're having right now, it indicates that in the future there cars will sell in bigger numbers... 'Slightly' bigger  So yeah, the price increase may be temporary to make some people wait till the price drops and they have made deals with their suppliers to produce a bit more perhaps so productions keeps up to the demand (though they are probably also peaks due to holidays+new releases).

So what will happen with the people who pre ordered before then like me. When I put my pre order in they were £260 I think this is a bit naughty of durango they must have known model shops had pre orders taken then they decided to hike up the price I am seriously thinking about canceling my order not due to the price but the principle of it:( |
This is something i have had several discussions with Team Durango about, we have 11 people who placed orders at the old price, however i did state on our website that the price would be RRP when the kits arrives.
I will be discussing this again with Team Durango and will be in touch with the customers involved. |
Does anybody know when the DEX410 V3 is due back in stock?
