Forgive me breaking my oople silence but I needed to comment on this great news.
Welcome Lee , congrats on your choice of chassis and it looks like the right choice going by the early lap times!
Nice work as per normal Lee !
Have a good year

:confused: surly as a factory driver he should be running a tamiya chassis :eh?:

Well Lee wouldn't be running the vega without permission from Tamiya, and maybe this might push them to build a mid of there own:thumbsup:

fastinfastout 11-01-2012 09:09 AM

doubt it, tamiya would not build a car just for the UK market.

this has already been run at Tallly National last year but lee wasnt running it ;) but was Lee's car

Gayo 11-01-2012 10:40 AM

Is the chassis made of graphite or is it only a sticker?

_sleigh_ 11-01-2012 10:41 AM

It's an alloy chassis with a carbon skin inlay.

2wd is going to be super competitive this year!

MHeadling 11-01-2012 11:04 AM

Just a bit, C4.1 vs Tamiya Vega!

Lee Martin 11-01-2012 11:34 AM

Its actually very different from the first Tamiya Vega.

Tamiya have allowed me to use a mid motor conversion until they have a car that is suited to our tracks.
I think that was only fair as it was becoming a little too difficult to obtain results against our countries elite all with Mid Cars.

This although looks similar, is nothing like the first Vega. i have worked with lewis at Xtreme to create a vega conversion specifically for the 201 with what i have learnt in testing the old car. Only receiving it last friday, it has been very promising so far!

Nope...

Different car now!

Nice to see you back anyway!

MHeadling 11-01-2012 11:52 AM

I'v seen the LMR Vega developed car at Xtreme head quarters, it looks amazing!

So nice infact I have bought a 201 to build one up!

Can't wait to see Lee at the Nats with it.

JustARcFan 11-01-2012 12:08 PM

This seems very logic to me as the geometry from the "old" vega 201 wasn't 100%.
Very interested what Lee changed to make the car more competitive.

Mark oh Mark - are you forgetting other top drivers driving Kyosho Vegas!!!

Lee will do extremelly well like he always does.
Now on a level playing field i am sure he can challege for his 2wd title that he no doubt wants.
If the last 2 weeks have been anything to go by, then we might as well not turn up!! :)

You all assume too much though!!
Tamiya, Kyosho Associated and all the rest will have to justify theUK market before they inverst in mid-cars.
For now it's all about Vega Power

MHeadling 11-01-2012 01:10 PM

I agree Tony, Vega Power!

Lee Martin has a real good chance of being Brit Champ with the Vega 201, hence why I said C4.1 vs Vega 201

I'm sure all the other Vega team drivers will be in the mix aswell, lots running the Kyosho versions!

Should be a tight championship!
