Camber Change/Roll Centre Question
Hi all,
I am after some advice regarding setup. I have a 1.16th 2wd micro scale home-made car, which is going pretty well (See the Kitten SV thread n the schumacher section). I have a small setup issue which I am trying to resolve, involving high speed cornering, where the car seems to 'bobble' and twitch a bit off power when turning mid-corner at high speed. It does it a little bit at low speed, but is easily controllable here. I think and it feels a little like the rear roll centre needs adjusting, but I am unsure what to do. I think it needs the inner ball-stud raising to resolve this, would this be right? Thanks for any help/advice. Regards Mark |
What is a 'bobble' boss?
Does if feel like the cornering force is making the suspension collapse under load? |
Yeah, kind of. It makes the whole car wiggle almost, a shimmy if you so will.
Once off power for a little longer, the whole car smooths out again. its just when fading in and out of the throttle when at high speed. :) |
I'd lower it mate, matke sure the front roll centre is below that of the front , but to me that sounds like it need the inner poin lowered OR try moving to the inner hole on the uprights to increase the ratio between lower arm and toplink.
