Car id help
 

Hi guys
I have been given this for a project i am doing for my local school so the kids can get into rc if they want to
Anyone seen 1 of these before? it's got no markings on it
Would be nice to know what it is so i can try & source some spares for it before i hand it over to the school

It could be a Tamiya Hotshot?, it appears to have same tyres as early Boomerang, and that Nimh slot looks suspiciously like an early Tamiya buggy? Right Gainsy, we need an old school Tamiya Buggy expert here? Anybody?

Not a hotshot, doesn't look like any tamiya that I recognise (despite the ovalblock tyres!)
We need TerrySC, he knows every vintage car out there!

Yeah i noticed the tyres but the hotshot was 4wd & mid motor
I was leaning towards a Nikko maybe but that is a pure guess really
The guy who is giving it to me is a bit of a tamiya expert & even he doesn't know what it is so i am ruling out tamiya, will have to have a closer look when it arrives to see if it has any hidden markings :)

could be a bluebird, they copied the tamiya designs of the time, and have the exact same tyres.

no prob dude, an aussie friend of mine had this bootlegged tamiya car, with the words bluebird written on the box, from what i remembered (it was 1990, and the car was few years old then), the tyres were the same as hotshot/boomerang, just like in the pic. i had a few of the suspension arms with me and a box wrench, with the word bluebird on it. i might have thrown out the parts last month, lol. i will go look in my drawer and check if any parts are still there and let you know.

No idea what it is but the way the front and rear sections bolt on separately looks more recent than the vintage cars I remember from the 80's so somewhere in the 90's seems reasonable.

I've just managed to get some money for 4 mad rats for a school project, perhaps we could trade notes on how to run things?

Well I didn't know exactly which car this was, although there are clues there to start looking.:D

It's a Robbe Fuego, although I suspect it was sold under another name with a different body as the tyres aren't Fuego ones, the tyres are originally from the Robbe Firefox which was a clone of the Bigwig.

Bloody hell! will someone find a car you can't ID:lol:. you are like our antiques roadshow expert.
