Brushed motor for V12?

Hi,

I will be racing a new V12 on a small full carpet indoor toring car track. What wind brushed motor could I run that is still drivable on 4.8v? Or is the stock motor OK?

Thanks.

most clubs run a stock class which is normally a mardave g2 motor which is 27turn and some clubs also let them run HPI saturn 20 motors which is a 20 turn. and as long as your esc runs 4.8v it will be fine.

So a 20T single on 4.8v is the most you could run before it all goes wrong. And if that 20T was run on 7.2v, it would be stupid!

So I'm looking for an ESC that can take down to 20Tand run on 4.8v :)

Thanks.

Speedmaster V60 / Mardave G28
Or
Novak Xrs
The Novak is good but the V60/G28 are better.

we run 20t motors with 2S Lipos at our local club, and they're just fine !

What is the 20T equivalent in brushless?

almunro 09-01-2012 04:29 PM

there is no real eqivalent, as brushless are very different and geared differently, but what i have been told speed wise that a good 19t is similar to 10.5 brushless?

feel free to correct me if im wrong.
Alex

people are running a 13t sensorless combo instead of 20t brushed in tamiya mini's but brushless isn't allowed in mardave at our club

i ran blinky 13.5 on a 1s lipo and was simialr too a 2s lipo on a 20t brushed
boosted 13.5 1s is quicker than 20t brushed 2s tho!

13.5t fusion exceed & 4 cell = same as G2 & 6 cell

So many options, making my head spin:eh?:

My club has no rules for racing the Mardaves. Last week one was put into a touring car race, it thrashed them :o. Basically the theroy in my club is if your good enough to hussel an over powered Mardave around the track, you deserve to win.

The car Mardave that won was running on a 6 cell Nim and standardish motor. Would any sort of stiffer springs or stuff be needed to carry the extra weight? How many amps would be used for a five minute race with a 6 cell nim on a standard 20T motor?

I think I'm starting to get a plan in my head :D

I've got medium front and hard rear springs on my car, running 38 shore fronts (45mm) and pink soft rears (48mm)

it's quick enough to make the touring car A final most weeks :)

most people that are running NiMH batterys are using the powerboys cells from DP racing.these comes as 4600Mah and there is enough power from them for a heat and practise laps before the heat to.
