Are the 540 points nights on the same night as the 2wd points? I'm looking to take a couple or 3 weeks off to earn some brownie points with her indoors, but dont want to miss a points night.

Yes. Traditionally 540 was a 2WD class, so the points are on 2WD nights. It's only in the last year or so that 4WD's have been allowed into 540.
