Mid West at worksop

Right, who is going?

I am looking for somewhere to stay, has anyone found somewhere to book yet, and do they have space spare if they wanna cut costs?

Hope someone reads this...
Mark

Mark,

I'm in the same boat mate. Was going to bring the better half along but I think it will be just me now.

No room booked as of yet..

markwilliamson2001 10-03-2008 12:57 PM

You wanna go halves on a travelodge or something? I don't smoke and am pretty quiet!

There's quite a few of the Mid-West racers booked into the TravelLodge in Worksop. It's about 5 minutes drive to the track. I booked mine last weekend and got it for £39/night

Food could be an issue by the hotel as apparently the pub stops serving food at around 8pm . With racing probably running until about 7-7:30 it'll be a mad dash for food. :o

Is there a pub next to the travel lodge ? Sweet, I thought it was just a little chief

_sleigh_ 10-03-2008 07:12 PM

Dave, I might have miss heard Mossy when he told me, perhaps it is a Little Chef. Either way when he went ealier in the year for a Winter Meeting the place stopped food early on.

There is always a McD's 5 minutes away. Well I can see one on Google Maps.

edit:.... looking at the same Google Maps image, there's a Pub across the road from McD's

GRIFF55 10-03-2008 07:13 PM

Actually guys, Im not running on the saturday and aim to be at the travel lodge by 6ish, as long as there isnt loads of people wanting it, Im happy to order the food for peeps so its ready for when you get there, just drop me a pm

Food? What food?

Just down the dual carriageway opposite McD's is The Lock Keeper pub, they do meals but not sure when they finish. Phone number is 01909 532565, postcode S80 1TJ .

The Millhouse 01909 473625, postcode S80 1NN is just across the road from the Travel Lodge so you'd get to that first as you leave town to go back to the Lodge.

Failing that, if you are brave there is always the Top Kapi kebab house on Newcastle Avenue, you'll see it on your right as you go through town, its opposite the bingo hall. Cannot comment on it as I haven't sampled their offerings for some years. All I can say is that you'll never see any stray dogs in that area . Ever.

The petrol station also sells a lovely collection of danish pastries and they sometimes run offers on the counter of out of date pies for 40p.

As a last resort what about taking sarnies!

Hope all you guys attending have a great days racing anyway.

I was the only one who finished my main, ice cream AND then finished my beer you letter box boy went to bed leaving 1 1/2 pints that makes it 2-1 to me:thumbsup:

matdodd 10-03-2008 10:51 PM
