Would it be fair to assume that it won't work with these?

you need the hrs version receiver

if you use the standard spectrum modual and reciever i beleive you can turn the hrs mode off on the hand set it should work.

its been a wile since i had either

std module should work with rx's as pics std PPM modulation

and yes you will need HRS rx's to work with HRS module

If you turn the hrs off it will work fine been using mine like it for the last 2 years with no issues

I've got a hrs receiver, so no problems.

I've only got the non hrs stuff as I've also got this:
