Plastic Parts x2c

Hello

The plastic parts on the x2c seem to be a bit fragile especially the rear hubs and front C hubs, they break off where the turnbuckles are attached. Are the parts for the monkey and the x2c parts the same? Do others have the same problems with breakages here from heavy landing and impacts.

Both are the same I'm sure, I'm not having any problems with mine, how heavy is heavy? :)

The Team cars are made from a slightly more ridged plastic and the RTR cars are full of plastic.
There is more flex in the RTR parts but they do all fit.

Impacts? nothing more than my CR handles with ease!

So if i want parts for the x2c are the monkey ones the same Stu.

Is the ballstud ripping out of the holes? If so a simple fix is get hold of some longer threaded bullstuds, put it through the hole and then put a nut on the exposed thres to clamp it together.

We did this to our cars and some of the beginners at our club to and they haven't done the same thing since.

I tend to use the RTR Lower A Arms for my X-Pro. I have alloy hubs all round after suffering a couple of breaks of the rear hubs.

I like having a little flex. And so far (touch wood...) I've not broken any lower arms. If you intend racing (or bashing) he alloy hubs are well worth the investment.

TBH I did find my madmonkey rear hub carriers a bit week were the ball studs screw in,I had a bump induced roll on a straight and mine went, But to be fair, yes my 22 or b4 would have survived, but to be fair you get what you payfor.I have seen most replace them with the alloy upgrade parts:thumbsup:. I paid £65 for my Madmonkey kit,I never expect it to be B4 etc but with a few tweeks it a very good handeling car

I've just done what you said Rob, does it just strengthen it up a bit or what?

mr emily 03-01-2012 08:00 PM

The ballstuds did not pull out of the holes. The outside edge of the carrier broke off. Clouted sideways!!!! A nut and washer might give a bit more support. I will try this , what ballstuds and ballends are you using?

I'm not critisizing the parts, just after the best way to make the car as reliable as possible.

I used the longer ball stud that come with the kit, ( i got 2 kits) then the nut that holds the shocks on. not sure what size.

It holds the ballstud straight in the hole during an impact and stops them ripping out the side.

Alloy hubs are great but they are expensive but they are fit and forget.

Cheers Robbie.
