Who wants to race at Eden Park Raceway on 6 April?

After an informal chat, we have decided that instead of opening up Eden Park for the whole weekend on 5-6 April, we will instead have an open day on the Saturday, and run a race meeting on the Sunday.

We feel that we are more likely to get visitors to the venue if there is actually an event running whilst you can still take in some free practice on the Saturday if you wish.

Between us, Steve and I will run the meeting which will adopt the same format as our Winter Warmer series but will in effect just be a club meeting - no trophies or prizes, sorry. One of our famous raffles may be in order though on the Sunday (TBC).

The timing would suit anyone participating at the Nationals as practice on an Astroturf track and offer the opportunity to practice on the track that will be hosting a round of the BRCA championship at the end of June.

We would welcome your thoughts on this and maybe if you are thinking of attending, please let us know by posting.

Many thanks

EPR Committee

I think this is a better idea!!!!
On the saturday I hope to be there painting the track markings/curbs. And will be there on the Sunday, oh and let's try and get a raffle going!!!! We can take all their money and improve our track!!!!!!

DC - I will have to see what I can get hold of raffle wise - kinda scraping the barrel at the moment but we have some bits held over from the last WW meeting.

Don't worry, I will lie to them and say we have loads!!!!!!!!!! haha

we might even run alternate layouts each round!

Or probably the more popular choice of the Full National Track!!!

Obviously count Christopher in!

Can I enter the Brushless Hyper 8?
It's not nitro! It's definitely be over the weight limit but the box may be an issue!!!

James - you are welcome to use the track on the Saturday if you wish

you're having a laugh! I can barely keep the thing in the air for 10 seconds, let alone her!
I'm hoping that flying it will improve my co-ordination. If i can master all the twiddly sticks on that then driving a car should be a piece of p1ss!!

How about longer finals or maybe two legs for everyone?

We have had different track layouts for every round before but it does need the racers to be switched on as to the where the track goes, and then there are new marshaling positions, etc. Would be a grid start every time like a final, with the car numbers being changed to a random order on the grid or maybe two or three lines, as we have done with the winter series.

I understand that this meeting clashes with one region's meeting so apologise for this, hence the reasoning behind having the track open on the Saturday as well!

All the talk of different layouts, longer finals, etc reminds me of the fun meetings we used to have at Christmas. I think we had a 15-minute final which at the time, meant a battery change. The day ran as a team event where you were paired up with another driver. In the final, one of the team drove and one marshalled. And your team-mate only had to marshal your car!
It was good fun and made for great camaraderie between team-mates and others- I hope that we can arrange this to happen again later this year!

Different Tracks

At the SDRCC club for onroad the club is very fortunate in that it can change the track to a number of layouts.with regard to our offroad track this is basically decided on the Saturday grass cut to suit and hay presto fun, Start in car number then buy position this seems to suit us.
We are this year having 7meetings and @ the end of the season i really would like to see a nice turnout with many more returning to grass roots, thou it is also important that we maintain onroad to enable the facility to be maintained.

yes change the track to give drivers the chance to get yoused to differeht layouts.
Sorry for long winded reply. "Offroad is number one"all other is for wimps.

Martin Keilloh.
