Cougar SV front Camber Link

What parts will I need to make a straight link and lose that silly angled ball cup?

john333 27-12-2011 12:12 PM

Just get long threaded balls and some spacer washers, to move the ball further forward, job done

fastinfastout 27-12-2011 12:26 PM

I heard 2mm of washers will do, but have not done it myself yet.

DCM 27-12-2011 12:51 PM

What about a longer turnbuckle to?

bigred5765 27-12-2011 03:13 PM

you.ll need
2 x u1574 60mm tunrbuckles
1 x u3498 pack of 4 xtra long ball studs
and
1 x U2858 pack of 3mm spacer
we use the mi4 ball studs and 3mm of spacing on both sides

Nice one Carl, seen to many of the funky ball cups break.

merlin_341 28-12-2011 07:27 AM

well i have tried this and it works just fine however now it seems to be the Yoke that takes the hit when you crash.

Any Pic's ?

Does this mod make the car handle better ? or is this mod done for reilbility?

DCM 28-12-2011 12:25 PM

It won't make it handle better, I am going to do it for reliability reasons only.

bigred5765 28-12-2011 02:57 PM

i think it does help a little on the handling side.

_sleigh_ 28-12-2011 04:04 PM

Maybe less flex in the ball cup, but that would be about it, as the link length would still be the same.

Timee80 28-12-2011 06:13 PM

the 2 ball studs will still be in the same postions. It doesnt matter if the link is shaped like a coat hanger, it will still handle exactly the same

bigred5765 28-12-2011 06:47 PM

i think its more the flex in the long angled ball cup
