Another brushed question...

Last week I bought a motor off of E-Bay.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=170744982659

It's a TMS Racing Challenger series 17t double.

Would it be based on the Reedy Challenger series at all?

Anyone ever owned or run one?

I've stripped and cleaned it(polished the comm, blown the dust out)and
re-oiled the bearings,so it should liven up the old Mardave Cobra nicely.

I'm using a stock Ansmann 80t spur on a Mad Rat'box,so I reckon a 24/25/26t pinion should be about right?

A bit difficult as the Reedys were the last competition brushed motors while the TMS is at least 20 years old.

Expect it to have similar motor speed to a modern 19 turn, but with a lot less torque so you really have to gear it correctly.

Cheers Terry.

I would've geared it quite low(17/18/19t)in the old Optima Mid
with it being a 4WD so that it'd rev out,but with the Cobra being 2WD,
I'll start with a 21t and see how it goes.
