question garry?

Hello,

I am new to the forum, and also quite new to racing. I own a 2nd hand predator x10, i think it is quite cool, but nobody seems to run 1. At my local club, we race on carpet in the winter but then just on flat grass in the summer, but when the grass wears away it gets very slippy.

My x10 does not go very well on this surface. A local guy said to me that if I reduce my anti-squat this will help  but I don't really know what this means. I asked him and he said the x10 does not let you do this adjustment, but looking at the manual that Garry Driffill has received with his new x11, it appears that anti-squat is now adjustable (it says that on the cover in the pic).

So Garry, as a team driver, can you tell me what anti-squat is? what will happen if I reduce it? how much do you run on your predator and is there a way I can change this on my x10?

Thanks in advance sir.
:)

I have been told that on the x10 the antisquat is fixed... but I don't even know what that means? what do you do to adjust it and how will performance change if i do adjust it?

On the front cover of the x11 book in the other topic, it says that the car has "adjustable antisquat and droop" and I want to know if you can do it on an x11, can i buy the parts to do it on my x10 also?

Thanks

bigred5765 05-03-2008 06:12 PM

i dont know for sure but my guess would be
you would need to upgrade to a x11 to do that

rcracer 05-03-2008 06:27 PM

Hi

beetroot,

The X10 does not have anti squat.

antisquat is the angle the rear wishbones are in compared to horizontal.
read more about it here: http://users.telenet.be/elvo/

The X11 has adjustable antisquat
it is pretty expensive to upgrade an X10 to X11 chassis specs so if I was you I would look for something else.
Ask your question again here 'www.the-pred.co.uk' I'm have mechanical know how about the pred but not the setup experience to help you enough.
on the other msgboard there are people who can help you further.

Ah... I see. Ok well I will keep plugging on without antisquat then. I think an x11 is a bit out of my range. Thanks for your help cooper :) I wasn't sure anyone was going to help me :o I don't understand it fully, but either way as it isn't an option not to worry.

Beetroot should download this manual:
http://www.the-pred.co.uk/index.php?...y_view&iden=25

Little more than halfway thrue, thereīs a topic called setup tips.
Think it will give you answears(sp?) to almost all your questions.

And no, I donīt own a X10, but Im thinking about buying one.
Always checking out all manuals and other stuff before I buy something.:D
